SAFETY
Blahnik Construction Employees Keep Safety "Top-of-Mind"
By CJ Beardsley, project coordinator
The employees at Blahnik Construction keep safety
responsibilities top-of-mind, and their 2009 safety
record supports this genuine commitment to safety.
Last year, Blahnik Construction had a perfectly
safe year, achieving zero recordables, lost-time and
preventable vehicle incidents.
Jim Burrows, Western Montana safety manager, noted
a steady improvement in Blahnik Construction’s safety
operations over the past four years.
"Through due diligence, the employees at Blahnik
Construction have proven that zero incidents is
an achievable goal. In addition, because a smaller
company cannot generate the hours or miles to
rebound from even one unsafe incident, safety must
be and is at 100 percent. Blahnik Construction
safety statistics clearly reflect improvements made
in the safety culture, something everyone can be
proud of," said Burrows.
"Blahnik Construction’s distinctive advantage
is that we are a small company with a great
family atmosphere," said Louie Miller, Blahnik
Construction’s operations manager. "This
contributes in part to our safety success. We are a
tight-knit group, and look out for each other."
Blahnik Construction's safety motto is standing the
test of time thanks to a strong employee/employer
commitment, proper training and continued
education - "If everyone in the pool is a lifeguard,
then nobody gets hurt."
Congratulations to all Blahnik Construction
employees on a great job!
