The Shelly Company Employees Support Local Charities
By Jamie Sturgeon, public relations specialist

Shelly GroupThis past holiday season, the combined efforts of the Thornville and Findlay Division employees raised more than $4,000 in cash and collected enough food to fill more than six large boxes for needy Ohio families.

The employee-driven Adopt-A-Family committees have raised more than $25,000 and helped more than 300 families since their commencement in 2003. The majority of fundraisers were held at company-sponsored events such as open houses, fall festivals, fishing days and annual meetings. Typical fundraising activities included lotteries, back-to-school raffles, 50/50 raffles, duck derbies, bake sales and luncheons.

"Knowing that all of the hard work and monies raised brightened the holiday season for several families with a warm meal and/or presents for the children made it all worth it," said Margie Snoke, Thornville Division Adopt-A-Family committee founder.
