Washington Concrete, Wenatchee, Wash., part of
Oldcastle’s Northwest Division, displayed a mixer truck

Helena Sand & Gravel (HS&G) recently received
three 2009 Concrete Excellence Awards from
the Montana Contractor’s Association Concrete
Division.
Northwest Division's Inland Asphalt Company Wins 2009 ARRA
Recycling Award
As a prime contractor during a 13-mile cold-in-place
recycling (CIR) project on US Highway 2 near Newport,
Wash., Inland Asphalt Company relied on the Internet
to track cloud movement and temperature fluctuations
on a real-time basis to ensure that temperatures would
reach at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit each work day.
Mountain Enterprises Wins Best State
Safety Record for Two Consecutive Years
Mountain Enterprises, Inc. was recently recognized by
the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors, Inc.
for having the best safety record in plant operations.
Warm-mix Produces Hot Results in
Southwest Missouri
APAC-Missouri, Inc. heated up Route 54 with one of
its first warm-mix asphalt (WMA) projects early in the
spring of 2009 – and received two awards as a result.

In May 2009, the Missouri Department of
Transportation awarded a $487 million design-build
contract for bridge replacements to KTU
Constructors, a joint venture of Kiewit, Traylor
Brothers and United Contractors.
Ogden's 12th Street Project Complete
The 12th Street corridor in Ogden, Utah, is one of
the city's most heavily traveled and has been a first-of-its-kind project for Staker Parson Companies.
LS Jensen Construction & Ready Mix Replaces 100-Year-Old
Irrigation Siphon
On Oct. 5, 2009, LS Jensen Construction & Ready
Mix (LSJ) entered into a contract with the Bitter
Root Irrigation District to install 560 linear feet
of 72-inch steel pipe siphon and associated
improvements for the Siphon 1 – Phase 1
