Keeping your Outlook contacts up-to-date with your Oldcastle Materials' contacts can seem like a never ending job. Co-workers change cell phone numbers, offices, companies and even Divisions all the time and too often we are left with incorrect contact information. If you have ever looked someone up in the OMG Outlook Address List in the past, more than likely the information was incorrect. To remedy this situation, OMG IT has rolled out a tool which will allow users to update their own contact information in the Outlook Global Address List.

screen shot The OMG Contact Manager is a Web-based self-service portal where users can modify their contact information such as office, fax and cell phone numbers, business address, title, department, company, manager, etc. Once the information is updated and saved through the portal, it automatically updates the Outlook Global Address List. From the Address List you can then save someone’s contact information directly to your BlackBerry! Please go to http://omgintranet/it/VideosHowTo/Pages/default.aspx for instructions.

The information that is entered into the OMG Contact Manager will also be used to populate another OMG IT initiative, the OMG Address Book, which soon will be available on the OMG Intranet. As updates happen through the OMG Contact Manager, it will dynamically update the Address Book. The Address Book will be searchable by first name, last name, user ID and e-mail address.

The OMG Contact Manager is an excellent resource to keep people connected; however, we need your help. The information in the Outlook Global Address List, and soon the OMG Address Book, is only as good as the information we provide.
