Shears Division
Receives Safety
Award from KCA

APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Division received the 2009
Category VII Safety Award from the Kansas Contractors
Association, Inc., at its annual convention on Jan. 29,
2010, in Kansas City, Mo. The award, which recognizes
outstanding achievement in accident prevention, was
presented to Brad Gover, environmental health and
safety manager for the Shears Division.
Category VII included companies with more than
300,001 total employee hours of exposure. The Shears
Division worked more than three times the required
hours in the largest category and had the best safety
record of all the entrants, completing the year with
939,938 man hours and no lost-time accidents.
Employees of the Shears Division demonstrate
strong commitment and exceptional dedication
through the promotion of safe operating practices
in the construction industry.
