AWARDS
ACPA and UDOT
Present Staker Parson
Companies with
Multiple Excellence
in Paving Awards
The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA)
and Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT)
presented Staker Parson Companies with four
Excellence in Paving awards for projects completed in
2009 at the Ninth Annual Concrete Pavement Workshop
in Salt Lake City on Jan. 20, 2010. The project owner,
design engineer and ready-mix supplier were recognized
at the conference for the winning projects.
Jack B. Parson Companies, the concrete division of
Staker Parson Companies, received three awards
for the concrete supplied for the following projects:
Street Replacement/Repairs, Salt Lake City; Utah
State Government Multi-Agency Building, Salt Lake
City; and Lost Creek Road, Morgan County. The
Lost Creek Road project is one of the first concrete-paved
county roads in Utah.
Staker Parson Companies was nominated by UDOT
for its work as the general contractor for the US-89
– 200 North Kaysville to Sunset Drive Truck Lane
concrete pavement overlay project, which is the
first of its kind for Staker Parson. UDOT chose to
overlay the southbound truck-lane with concrete in
anticipation that the surface will be more durable.

"We are honored to be recognized for our efforts on
these projects," said Scott Parson, president and
CEO of Staker Parson Companies. "We strive to be
The Preferred Source by building quality, service
and innovation into every project with which we are
involved as a materials supplier or contractor."
The ACPA awards are designed not only to
honor quality concrete pavements, but also to
encourage exceptional workmanship and provide a
resource for contractors to share information and
resources. Winning projects are determined by an
independent panel of judges. |
